Marina Vallarta Las Palmas I Local 3

El Banco Comes to Life with Yellowfin Monsters, Grande Marlin

The Bank or El Banco in Spanish has caught on fire! What was just a Luke warm location and not worth the fuel expense has turned into Yellowfin Tuna Central. Not twenty miles past the bank or on some heading north, but rather over the high spots you will boat a Yellowfin Tuna Monster amigos. Blue and Striped Marlin have shown up in increasing numbers. Huge Dorado of 45 to 60 lbs., hell even the whales are filtering in. Yes friends, high season is here and Sportfishing in Puerto Vallarta is as good as I’ve seen it all year. Fish that won the Pez Vela Tournament would not have been able to compete with what is coming out of our world famous fishing grounds

Billfish Abundant at Corbeteña, Yellowfin Tuna Size Varies, Fishing is Great

El Banco was quiet for a long time, but we’re seeing Black Marlin in the area with some nice ones boated over 700 lbs this past week. Yellowfin Tuna are lingering in the area with a size range from anywhere between 60 to 200 lbs, it just depends on what is in the area at the time. But the last few days the Yellowfin have been running on the Larger Size… Cow Sized amigos! Live bait is sparse here as well, so the same thing holds true here as well, make bait while you can

Yellowfin Tuna and Black Marlin have finally Arrived!

Where as just a few days ago we saw perfect conditions at our world famous fishing grounds, the fish we anywhere but here! But like I said, this has all changed and the conditons now are some of the best I’ve seen for the whole year if you’re targeting Yellowfin Tuna or Black Marlin!

Crazy Currents, Changing Conditions is Challenging Puerto Vallarta Anglers

It’s been a rough year for Puerto Vallarta Fishing all around. In April CNN spoke lies about the conditions in Mexico concerning Drug Issues, Swine Flu and the general state of Mexico. It put the brakes on all tourist related businesses and has hurt Puerto Vallarta to the bone. Now that we´ve entered November we’re all looking forward to people returning to our fair city, no matter what that may be. One thing for sure, whatever it is, it will be better than what we’ve been seeing for the last six months.

Changing Conditions, Changing Currents, Dorado on the Move

As we move out of October we see once again the fish are on the move. With the strange currents we´ve seen this year it´s hard to predict where to fish from day to day. The past two weeks the most reliable locations were El Morro and the Marietta Islands. With Dorado off the hook, why head anywhere else. But that was last week, this week we see that El Morro and the Marietta Islands have cooled off a little with Dorado and Sailfish for the most part moving into deeper waters. You´ll still find game fish here, but it’s not like fishing in a barrel like it was this past week. Still worth the effort and while in diminished numbers, Sailfish, Dorado, Jack Crevalls, Bonito, and more. Remember, live bait is always king and with the action near the rocks, you´ll want to make sure you’ve got plenty of live bait to cast and troll.

Welcome to Fish City, Yellowfin Tuna, Marlin, Sailfish and More!

Finally, it’s fish city at Corbeteña and El Banco. Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado and yes even Yellowfin Tuna amigos. Things have changed, water conditions are close to perfect, the moon phase is in full cooperation and there is plenty of bait in the deep, blue water locations. We´ve also seen more tourism or people due to the incredible vacation deals to Mexico. If you´re not here in Mexico, it´s time you thought about coming down!

Don’t Give Up on Yellowfin Tuna, the Season is Not Over Yet!

Normally Sportfishing in Puerto Vallarta is a no brainer, especially at this time of the year. Normally we see Yellowfin Tuna in the 200 to 300 lb range at this time of the year, but this year is one of those special years called El Nino. Most people hear the name El Nino all the time, but in reality have no clue what it really means. Yes they know the weather is going to be a little weird and this is a normal thing.

The web Site Bloody Decks is the Joke of the Industry and Here´s Why A few years back, a well known captain here in Puerto Vallarta came across a couple of ¨Skaters¨ and the conversation came up on how there was very little information about fishing coming out of Puerto Vallarta (PV).
