Welcome to Fish City, Yellowfin Tuna, Marlin, Sailfish and More!
Finally, it’s fish city at Corbeteña and El Banco. Marlin, Sailfish, Dorado and yes even Yellowfin Tuna amigos. Things have changed, water conditions are close to perfect, the moon phase is in full cooperation and there is plenty of bait in the deep, blue water locations. We´ve also seen more tourism or people due to the incredible vacation deals to Mexico. If you´re not here in Mexico, it´s time you thought about coming down!
Picture is worth a thousand words, Then heres then thousand worlds!
The say a picture is worth a thousand words! Well if that’s the case, here are ten thousand words or as many as the site will allow me to post at this moment…..
Don’t Give Up on Yellowfin Tuna, the Season is Not Over Yet!
Normally Sportfishing in Puerto Vallarta is a no brainer, especially at this time of the year. Normally we see Yellowfin Tuna in the 200 to 300 lb range at this time of the year, but this year is one of those special years called El Nino. Most people hear the name El Nino all the time, but in reality have no clue what it really means. Yes they know the weather is going to be a little weird and this is a normal thing.
The web Site Bloody Decks is the Joke of the Industry and Here´s Why
The web Site Bloody Decks is the Joke of the Industry and Here´s Why A few years back, a well known captain here in Puerto Vallarta came across a couple of ¨Skaters¨ and the conversation came up on how there was very little information about fishing coming out of Puerto Vallarta (PV).
There are more species of fish in Puerto Vallarta Fishing Grounds, Cubera Snappers are One Example!
There are more than Yellowfin Tuna and Marlin in Puerto Vallarta Fishing grounds amigos! One example are these photos of Cubera Snapper. Now this is a 65 lb snapper. It taped out at 90 pounds using some formula Ken Sutla used. Who knows what the formula was, but the scale used said 65 lbs, so 65 it is! Sorry Ken……
Conditions Improve As Water Temperatures Drop to Normal Levels Ever since El Nino raised its ugly head
Conditions Improve As Water Temperatures Drop to Normal Levels Ever since El Nino raised its ugly head, we´ve been talking about how warmer water temperatures may sound like a good thing, but in reality can really wrench things up. Like I’ve written about now for weeks, the water temperatures when in extreme levels will drive Yellowfin either down deep or out of the area. Now we´ve been seen signs of Yellowfin at Corbeteña and El Banco, this is more than what we had been seeing. We’re all thankful for that, although in the smaller ranges of 60 to 100 lbs, right now we´re not complaining.
Puerto Vallarta Sportfishing, Every Hurricane Has A Yellowfin Tuna Silver Lining !
It looks like things are loosening up at the fishing grounds after weeks of no rain, no bait and very few Yellowfin to speak of due to all sorts of things. But there have been some signs of life at Corbeteña, El Banco and the Marietta Islands. We´ve had a hurricane, rain, and the reappearance of the trash line. So there is reason to be a little excited about the possibilities at least for the next few days! Even if it all sounds a little scarey!
