  7. so if I come fishing with you, can we kill as many Dorado as we like? You posted that we can catch 10 each, I believe…..

and I agree. those guys at Bloody Decks are mean.

  8. Hello Benny, Kill as many Dorado as you like? I’d like to think you would keep what you can eat, share a little with the crew, then throw the rest back. There are fishing regulations in Mexico and it’s a ten point system. Legally, Dorado are considered three points each, no matter how small or how big. But there is no enforcement on these regulations, so frankly, it is wide open. One good thing about Dorado is they won’t go to waste. But with the projected diminished populations, we can’t afford to waste this resource or none of will have any to catch. I hope this answers your questions amigo….. Stan

  9. Thanks for reading, I will do my best to keep it accurate and interesting…. Stan

  10. I tend to agree with you. I register and posted about a year ago an experience that we had with a charter company from near Punta Mita that was run by a local judge who used the police to basically extorted us for more money when we returned from fishing. Bloody Decks deleted my post and banned me for life for telling the truth and giving other fishermen the heads up on this outfit. Such has been the extent of my experience with that forum.

  11. That is the way they operate. Write something about one of their Bloody Decks Taliban cronies, tell the world how to avoid their friends, they drop you like a hot potato. So much for being a respectable fishing forum. I get nasty comments from the BD Taliban, so don´t feel bad. I had some more guys cme in the shop the other day and tell me how the site is a Joke and how they looked at it a few times, but haven’s since it was such a low rent forum. If it’s free and it’s not moderated except to ban people, then what is it, ultimately a Joke…. Thanks for your comments. I suggest http://www.InTheBite.com to post your fishing reports on, it´s free and it has some class….. for more locations, fire me an email and I will forward you some great, professional sites …. Stan

  12. Whats up, this was a really high quality article. I’d like to write like this also – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get something done.

  13. Well said Stan,
It makes me laugh when people say “how can you live in Mexico its so corrupt” hmmm well look at house, senate prevbiouse and existing leadership not going to incriminate myself and make any further statements. Bottom line is the politic society in the USA is pathetic. Ony care is to staying in office = next election = campaign funds.
BP contibutes much to US politics.

Just like when they got palms greased by wall street as main street took and still is taking a beating, do you think the politicians are hurting.. Likely not….Shame on all of them.
They are all a bunch of sell outs.
Show me a business man that is willing to take a seat in the house, give it to him and put a boot in the tail of the politician. hell the politicians cant even balance Americas check book

Good to live on the pacific with beautiful beaches sea life.
Kills us all who care so much to see the oil cartels giant cluster—k they have going in the gulf. I can not believe how irresponsible inconsiderate and if this doesnt turn into a criminal case for sure corruption is bigger and stronger than any drug cartel. drug cartel oil cartel difference? All bad they way its handled and ran,. but could it be one is just paying more “mordida” than the other to have stayed off the radar with no back up plans or engineering to handle an issue like this? seems insane right?
Which creates more damage? which creates more cost to citizens? enviromental disaster? Its all about the money & Government controll

I hope this works out and they get it togther a day or week or actually month late but better than never..

  14. Feel free to use what you would like as long as you remember to give me the credit for the article… Stan

  15. ok so you and everybody else out there are shamelessy plagerising work from Conde Nast Traveler magazine. you have 895 words directly stolen the article written by AdaMarie King of Conde Nast Traveler from an article called Why Buy Mexico.
YOu pass it off as your own article. yet you didnt even try to summarize her article you just cut and paste the words into your article.

its ok to use others’ work, but just give credit to author and source, mr Masterbaiter≥…

  16. Hello Jen, I find it interesting that you accuse me of plagerising work from another source saying conte nast has the same words as my article. Well I am very happy to tell you that if there is any similarity between the two articles I would be amazed or be inclined to accuse the publication of stealing my origional article written here and only here. I can assure you I sat down in front of my computer, here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and wrote that article from the heart about what I see happening around me and from my public news sources. My article is 100% origional and I would love to see the article you are discussing….. But again, you are wrong. Facts are facts and in news services there is always the the chance the same facts will sound like a similiar reporting. I am not the only one making comments about the real state of Mexico and it is most likely the case here….. If you care to be better informed about the situation in Mexico I suggest you check out http://www.thetrughaboutmexico.com ….. If I was going to steal material, I would steal it from there….. Stan Gabruk

  17. Hi Stan,

This very same article was submitted to me by the late Charles Simpson of PV, and I printed it with his permission on Mexico Premiere on July 21, 2009. http://www.mexicopremiere.com/?p=1682

According to the above thread it looks like Jose Navarro and Stan Gabruk are both claiming to have been the author. Can you please shed some light on this for me? You can respond to my email at dave@mexicopremiere.com.

    Thanks
    Dave Simmonds

  18. Dave, I went back and checked the article you were talking about and I stand corrected!!!!!!! I was sent this article by friends as I look back and thought it would be a good thing for people to read… I Copied the article, copy / paste thing from an email I received… If Charles Simpson is the author, I will go back and give him his due credit as any decent person would…. I never steal materials and this was a innocent mistake…

Thanks for pointing this out…… I have writen so many articles about mexico, I assumed you were refering to one of those and again, I stand corrected…. Stan

  19. Thanks, Stan. I have no doubt Charles Simpson was the author. He lived in PV with his family after a long career on Wall Street.
Keep up the good work on Mexico!

    DS

  20. Hello Peter, we have all sorts of options for you. If you have been reading my blogs, I post reports for fishing in Puerto Vallarta weekly. Sailfish have magrated out to Corbeteña right now, but they´re there and they´re large …… We never know what the exact conditions are going to be, so we wait until it´s happening and see which way the bite is going…. I have pangas that are half the price of my next largerst boat, so you can still have the private price, for the same price as a shared boat. Just depends on what the situation you hand me is…. Maybe try and share a boat, no worries, have to wait to be here first to see if there is any interest from others.. I can post a sign on the frong of the shop… Put my email address: CatchFish@MasterBaiters.com.mx …. or feel free to call my shop, central time: 011 52 322 209 11 28 direct to my shop from the United States and thanks for contacting us At Master Baiter´s… Stan Gabruk

  21. Stan, I have a need to feel the tug of a 100# plus yellow fin tuna at the end of the line. I know it’s like gazing into a crystal ball, but on average, which is the best week to go to PV to fish for big yellow fin?

  22. Thanks for the message Mike…. Yellowfin Tuna traditionally hit their peaks betweem the end of August to the end of November. Of course this all depends on water temperatures, availability of bait.. but mostly water temperatures. You can see YF Tuna in the 245 to 350 range in these time frames. But it’s not like they’re thick like ten years ago…. But there are always Yellowfin to be had if you are willing to do what it takes. El banco is fifty miles out from Marina Vallarta and the YF Tuna are always bigger there, if they are there… Otherwise Corbeteña is the other Major fishing grounds we have which are 35 miles out. Now this location has a varied bottom as well with lots of structure. This means you will se a great variety of fish, but which fish is always a question. Primarily in these time frames you will find Black, Striped, and Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Cubera Snapper in the 50lb range and up…. But I GOT A WAY FROM THE QUESTION… Mid July we start to see YF Tuna Return to the area…. After the end of November they can get a touch smaller in size some times. But right up to the first week of January there will be warm, blue water fish at the fishing Grounds. We have our Pez Vela Tournament in Mid November, so that should tell you something…. I hope that is easily understood, probably not.. Hahahaha….. But there you have it.. I would show a picture of the winning Tuna from the tournament last year.. If yoiu go to MasterBaiter Stan on YouTube you will see a series of my programs I made from PV… you can see what they catch in November …. it was a good tournament last year.. check it out…… I hope this answers your questions.. I have people who can set you up in a nice condo if interested… Also, remember, Nuevo Vallarta is not puerto Vallarta. The local Hotels you may want to look at are the Westin or Marriott casa Magna…. I know they are throwing some great deals out there now with good air fares as well…… any more questions, feel free to ask….. 23. Who is that handsome fellah????

Hey anytime you want to start that blog let me know, there is so much ammunition in the male community!

    Liz (Ken Sutula)

  24. Cool Article! My spouse and i had been simply just debating that there’s a whole lot absolutely wrong details at this matter and also you precisely replaced the belief. Many thanks for a marvelous contribute.

  25. Nice post. I be taught one thing more challenging on totally different blogs everyday. It can all the time be stimulating to learn content material from other writers and observe a bit of one thing from their store. I’d choose to make use of some with the content on my weblog whether or not you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your internet blog. Thanks for sharing.

  26. They are charging a dock fee now in Nuevo Vallarta? This is new to me, but it is something out of my control and the owner of the Marina must have started something new…. I can´t do any thing about the cruise ship. I did not hear anything about the anchor, I can´t imagine why you would anchor unless you were bottom fishing….. When it comes to casting reels, they never give those open spooled reels to clients unless they know how to use them. They bird nest easily and if that happens the reel is done for the day and the line then needs to be changed…. I never heard anything about your day, so this is good feed back and I will forward this information to the boat owner. Hooks etc on the deck, constantly changing lures … I guess too many hooks on the deck is not exactly safe, but this is not totally abnormal…. Changing lures is part of the deal when fish are not hitting. ….. Sounds like you had a bad day fishing, but still caught fish and the conditions were not misrepresented …… I am very surprised to hear this, I have worked with Capt. Oscar for years and will forward this on to him and the boat owner. I will also keep this in mind and not book this boat again as it is a non-company boat……

  27. Youre so cool! I dont suppose Ive read something like this before. So good to search out any individual with some authentic ideas on this subject. realy thank you for beginning this up. this website is something that is wanted on the net, someone with just a little originality. helpful job for bringing something new to the internet!

  28. Beneficial Blog! I had been simply just debating that there are plenty of screwy results at this issue you now purely replaced my personal belief. Thank you an excellent write-up.

  29. I think I am the only real source of up to the minute information coming out of PV… thanks for your comments and if you haven´t already, subscribe and tell your friends. I am shooting for thirty five readers by the end of the year, wish me luck! Until then, thanks for the comments amigo… Stan

  30. Thanks, real information is always hard to cm e by when reading reports from companies pushing their product. We all know fishing is up and down, it´s the nature of the sport. So I try to keep a positive twist on things, but still keeping a personal agenda out of the picture. You will always get it straight from me…. thanks for the positive comments… Stan

  31. Hi ya stan, I’m interested in this also. (Please see the most recent post on my blog for details.) Your blog post is great to read; you have definitely provided me with lots of food for thought.

  40. Don’t really promote the site much except through my articles and word of mouth… so I guess people want to read what i have to say. But actually it is the mere fact that there is very little information coming from Puerto Vallarta on actual fishing conditions and not what ¨MY¨ boat did today and look how bitchen we are… I figure you´ll find m e if you´re looking for a fishing trip in PV.. thanks for your comment

  41. Don’t have a clue amigo… I just post the articles on the site…. it should be pretty simple… Stan

  42. There are some on the market that are pretty fair, but i have no clue where to find a good one….Stan

Tell me about this “WordPress” all about? Is it difficult? Need I be savvy in computers to put together a blog? I am hoping to make a simple blog for my learn english writing language website. Can the software be added seamlessly into a current website?

  52. I had the chance to fish on one of your charter boats last weekend, we ad a blast and got into roosters, red snappers and jacks! fun trip!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great crew, great fishing.

    Gracias!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  54. I am amazed, I must say. Really seldom do I go through a blog that is both educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you might have hit the nail on the head. Your current idea is certainly outstanding; the issue is something which not enough people are speaking smartly about. Now i’m very happy that stumbled across it within my seek something about it. Online Patent Search Database

  55. Many thanks for your time and energy to have decided to put these things together on this blog. Mary and I very much loved your knowledge through your articles with certain things. I know that you have a variety of demands on program so the fact that an individual like you took the maximum amount of time like you did to steer people like us through this article is also highly treasured.

  56. You see here in Vallarta we have some unique conditions that keep this area one of the best fishing locations in the world. Smaller Yellowfin Tuna have arrived here as well in the 40 to 60 lb range for the moment.

  62. This is a blog about Puerto Vallarta with a Master Baiter´s Twist… I don’t do guest blogs…. stan

  63. Thanks, I will look into it, I am not very savy when it comes to computers so i GO for simple when ever I can…. Stan

  64. Actually I am just a guy living in Puerto Vallarta that Owns Master Baiter´s Sportfishing and tackle (www.masterbaiters.com.mx) who wants to make sure clients can keep up with the latest in conditions in PV. I appreciate your comments though… Keep reading and tell your friends, I am trying to get 35 readers by the end of the year! Hahahahaa… take care, Stan

  65. Brandon, Normally we don’t have Yellowfin Tuna per se in April. But thisis a weird year and they have
been in and out. For now there are mostly football sized and between El Banco and Corbetena which are
35 to 50 miles out…. Rooster fish love live bait but will hit poppers, Rapallas, silve diamond jigs, and many others.

No real secrets for Roosters, you just have to be there when they come up… Marietta Islands and the reef at Punta Mita are your best bets.

Hope this answers your question… I am off to the fred Hall fishing show in Long beach calif.. I will be away from the computer for a bit but
will be back on the 12th of March for more questions of you have any …

    Stan

  66. Is is worth a 10 hr charter for April 2 to even go fishing? How much do you charge and what could we expect to catch on a 10 hr trip. We fish out of Cabo a couple times a year.

  67. The last couple of years have been hard to deal with being El Nino then two years of La Nina. April last year was dismal, but the predictions are for warmer temperatures early in the season. April can be a good or bad month, only time will tell…. but who says you need to do ten hours, the Marietta Islands are full of fun and challenging fish like Rooster Fish,Skip Jack Tuna, Snappers, pompano and much more… there is always the tres maria islands if you are looking for larger fish at a distance and premium amigo….Stan

  72. Great article. I wish I would have saw this earlier. We moved to Florida last year and have spent good money on some not so great fishing charters. Live and hopefully learn. 🙂

  73. Next time you´re in Puerto Vallarta give a call or come by…. We´ll fix you up… good luck and thanks for the positive comments… Stan

  74. Hi Stan, I was in your shop 2 years ago and picked up some fishing goodies. We’ll be back there in Feb 2020, and I’m wondering if any of your associates would take a keen fisherman and his spouse out for a combo fish ,sightsee and snorkelling trip. If so ,you can sign us up for a date between 1- 15 Feb. !
BTW: just procured a new Okuma travel rod, and already have decent rods by Shimano and Remington, although I broke the Remington last year in in Zihua.
I would not call them seriously “heavy action” but they are fine for most fish up to 35 lbs. Obviously folks should match their reels properly as well..

  75. Hello Dale, I didn’t see your comment so sorry for the delay! Yes we can fix you up easily! We do this sort of thing all the time amigo.. send your messages to my company email: CatchFish@MasterBaiters.com.mx and I’ll communicate with you much easier and more reliably… Stan

  76. After 3000+ post on BD I was banned with the an accusation that I, through a post, brought ‘Legal action’ against BD for slander with the LR vessel ‘Excel’….The same Excel that has gladly accepted thousands upon thousands of dollars of my hard earned cash. I call bullshit. There is no slander asking what a 3.5% ‘Convenience fee’ is all about on the boards. I have been very salty in past posts and never banned. This tells me that maybe there is more to this than meets the eye….”Oops! We ran into some problems.
You have been banned for the following reason: Now we are in legal trouble with the Excel for slander. Bye Bye.. “

  77. Stan
Will be in PV April 26-May 1 for our 30th anniversary. 3-4 of us are looking to fish as you have came highly recommended. Our preference would be Sailfish. Recommendations and availability ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Bryan

  78. Join the crowd amigo… I was banned because I know the inside story on BD… The pledgurized an article i wrote, changed it, then reposted it and told the world “Look what I wrote”… So I know these pricks. Your comments don’t surprise me and I hope anyone reading this will understand that Bloody Decks is a shit site…. Thank you very much.

  79. We are presently putting together a web page to sell int he stated on |Amazon… Stay tuned and when we get the web page straight we’ll make the announcement… I’ll fix the glitch….

  80. We are in the process of putting together an online site… Shipping from Mexico
    is impossible… Subscribe and you’ll get a notification…. Stan
