Marina Vallarta Las Palmas I Local 3

Quickie Report: April 29, Snapper at Punta Mita

We are still waiting for the Sailfish to take their eyes off the women, but I guess all us guys have the same problem. A couple of Striped Marlin were boated yesterday, but I didn’t see them…. still, this is a good sign if it continues … stay tuned. Dorado are still missing as well. […]

MEXICAN SPORTFISHING REGULATIONS

There are always a lot of questions on Mexican Fishing Regulations / Fishing Limits. Below are the facts or you can go directly to the official Mexican Govt. Web Site to get all the details. Right now the enforcement of these regulations is non-existant in Puerto Vallarta. But I do know they are enforced in Cabo. So make sure your butts are covered. If you are anything like me, I would be the one who gets busted! Visti the web site at:

Seasonal Transitions Slow, Spawining Getting in the Way of Fishing

It seems we are a little slow to come out of the Winter Season, but there have been some encouraging signs lately. Water temperatures have been hovering around seventy nine degrees and that is where they should be at this time of the year. But still, Sailfish are normally thick in the area around Punta Mita and the Marietta Islands around Easter. This year we have been scratching our heads wondering where they were and finally we are seeing some signs of life. For the last couple of days we have seen some, not many, but some Sailfish turning up north of Punta Mita (10 hr day) and around the Marietta Islands.

Quickie… Report that is…. Sailfish in the bay?!

Sailfish have shown up in the bay, highly unusual, but with all the bait in the water, it doesn´t surprise me. Check out the photo. I left it as large as possible, but this is what the sails and the roosters have been stuffing themselves with.

Master Baiter’s Forges a Partnership with The Dream Yacht Club, The face of Sportfishing and Yachting Has Just Changed for The Better Consumer Wise!

I have been trying to come up with a way to get people on good boats, at a fair price. Well I found the vehicle and I am proud to announce that Master Baiter´s has formed a partnership with Dream Yacht Club in Marina Vallarta. I was introduced to a new concept in fishing and yachting charters that frankly will change the industry and put those ¨promoters¨ out of business. At the same time it will make those serious about fishing or Yachting take notice. Dream Yacht Club (www.DreamYachtClub.com) will change the face of yacht ownership. OK, so you may be asking ¨How¨? It’s actually very simple…..

Sportfishing in Puerto Vallarta Bounces Back, Yellowfin at El Banco, Conditions Improving

Sportfishing in Puerto Vallarta Bounces Back, Yellowfin at El Banco, Conditions Improving

Coming out of the worst financial disaster in more than 75 years, Puerto Vallarta is bouncing back. Compared to this time last year with the Cruxification of Mexico (H1N1 LIES), PV is bouncing back to something that resembles the business community a year earlier. Still with tourism down in PV in the thirty percent range (improving daily) I’m just happy to have weathered the storm as we move into SUMMER, YeHa! Not only the economy is bouncing back, so it the fishing, finally! For the Yellowfin fanatics on a budget now would be a good time to break the piggy bank. The weather is warming up, the crowds will come again come early June again, and we have what they will be looking for now! With the slow down after Easter, there are deals to be had, favorable weather, conditions and full fishing grounds, not to mention the favorable exchange rate. It’s time you bounced on down to Mexico before it gets really hot and humid!

Changing Seasons and Currents Bring Hundred Pound Plus Yellowfin Tuna to The Bank

As we continue to march along into summer, Spring time is starting to shape up nicely with the recent changes of Yellowfin Tuna coming in to El Banco and Dorado return into the area, especially at the Marietta Islands! Water temperatures are in line with where they should be and the fishing is still good in the bay. All and all, it´s a great time to be fishing in Puerto Vallarta!
